Bamboo We Must Be

When the breeze
Rips through
Tearing into
The majestic
Tree so mighty

Rigid and hard
It breaks into
Brittle shards

Even some
Behemoths
Shatter
After a summer
Of heat
And a lack of
Water

Many loose
Their leaves
Beginning in Fall
Their bare
Exterior tall
And stark
Against the
Grey skies

But the bamboo
Stands tall
And green
Through it all
The difference
Between it
And the tree
Lies in its
Flexibility

Like the
Bamboo we
Must be
Come
flexible
To be one
With what
Is

Relaxed and
Ready to receive
The gifts
Life gives
Moments
If we see
Them right
Teach us
How to give

And with
True spirit
And no risk
How to approach
The best
living
The kind
Where we win
By simply
Surviving
